What is ASPIRE?

ASPIRE (Airport Sustainability Performance, Integration and Resilience Enhancement) is ACI Africa’s advisory service designed to help airports integrate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into airport strategy, governance and operations.

Built around the ACI Airport ESG Framework, ASPIRE provides a practical, airport-specific approach to assessing ESG priorities, developing implementation strategies and embedding sustainability into everyday decision-making.

What ASPIRE Delivers

ASPIRE provides practical, airport-specific advisory support to help airports integrate ESG into their governance, planning and operations. Depending on an airport’s needs and level of maturity, ASPIRE delivers:

  • ESG maturity and materiality assessments
  • Airport-specific ESG strategies
  • Governance and accountability frameworks
  • ESG implementation roadmaps
  • Performance indicators and monitoring frameworks
  • ESG reporting frameworks
  • Capacity building and executive advisory support

How the Programme Works

ASPIRE follows a flexible three-stage methodology that allows airports to enter the programme at the stage that best reflects their current level of ESG maturity.

ASPIRE Assess

Identify material ESG risks, opportunities and stakeholder priorities while establishing an ESG baseline.

ASPIRE Strategise

Develop an airport-specific ESG strategy, governance framework and implementation roadmap.

ASPIRE Embed

Integrate ESG into governance, operations, performance management and reporting to support continuous improvement.
